I fully admit I am an American Idol fan. I have pretty much watched every year and I will probably watch it until it's not on anymore (which I don't see happening in the forseeable future)
Something I noticed a year or two ago is the underlying battle that faith takes in this giant gorilla monster of a show. Many of the contestants have professed faith in one aspect or another
Past Winners; Kelly Clarkson, Ruben Studdard, Fantasia & Carrie Underwood all have Christian upbringing. Most notably Carrie Underwood, who's single "Jesus Take the Wheel" has exploded on both the pop and country charts.
Fan favorite Clay Aiken actually is a Christian as well, he even has a Pre-Idol demo of Christian music.
I find it interesting that every person who has won American Idol has proclaimed Christianity and given glory to God...
So each year I like to have a looksie at the website and check out the new group of top 24 contestants and see what we are in for on a spiritual level.

Such analysis may seem silly and maybe unimportant. But when you look at the culture influences pop stars and other famous people have on the country as a whole, I really think it's important to be backing someone who will positively impact society.
I know Carrie Underwood's song "Jesus Take The Wheel" has given me oppurtunities to share my faith. I'm so excited with the way God is using such a worldly competition to put His kids in the spotlight and impact the world.
